Scrum accountabilities, events and artifacts, Kanban, user stories, velocity and burndown charts — the agile terms that appear throughout the PMP exam.
All 15 cards in this deck
1.What are the three Scrum accountabilities?Show answer
Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Developers.
2.Who is accountable for ordering the product backlog?Show answer
The Product Owner — they maximize the value of the product resulting from the team’s work.
3.What does a servant leader / Scrum Master primarily do?Show answer
Removes impediments, coaches the team and organization in agile practices, and shields the team so it can self-manage — rather than directing the work.
4.What is the maximum length of a sprint?Show answer
One month or less. Sprints have a consistent length to create a regular cadence.
5.How long is the Daily Scrum?Show answer
15 minutes, held every working day of the sprint, for the Developers to inspect progress toward the sprint goal and adapt their plan.
6.What is the difference between the sprint review and the sprint retrospective?Show answer
The sprint review inspects the product increment with stakeholders. The retrospective inspects how the team worked (people, process, tools) to improve the next sprint.
7.What is the Definition of Done?Show answer
A shared, formal description of the quality standards an increment must meet before it is considered complete.
8.What is velocity?Show answer
The amount of work (often in story points) a team completes per iteration. It is used for the team’s own forecasting, not for comparing teams.
9.What does a burndown chart show?Show answer
The work remaining over time in an iteration or release. A burnup chart shows work completed against total scope.
10.What is a WIP limit in Kanban?Show answer
A cap on the number of work items allowed in a workflow stage at once. It exposes bottlenecks and improves flow.
11.What does INVEST stand for in user stories?Show answer
Independent, Negotiable, Valuable, Estimable, Small, Testable.
12.What is a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)?Show answer
The smallest version of a product that can be released to gather validated learning from real users.
13.What is a spike?Show answer
A short, timeboxed piece of work to research a question or reduce uncertainty before committing to an approach.
14.What is an information radiator?Show answer
A highly visible display of project information (e.g. a task board or burndown chart) placed where the team and stakeholders can see it.
15.What is the difference between lead time and cycle time?Show answer
Lead time runs from when a request is made until it is delivered. Cycle time runs from when work actually starts until it is finished.
